Tae-Hyung Yi was a pioneer who studied traditional Confucianism and also learned Western studies. Tae-hyung Yi devoted his life to nurturing the next generation of patriots to achieve national independence from Japanese colonial occupation.
He served as the third principal of the Jeongjin Elementary School, founded by the Yeoju Lee clan in 1921 during the Japanese occupation. And he also worked as the first principal of Myeong-ryun Academy, the predecessor of the current Milseong Middle and High School after the libration from Japan.
